A Park for All, A New Way of Life In Our City!
Lamda Development opens to the public the first project of The Ellinikon, earlier than expected.
Lamda Development opens the Experience Park, part of the Metropolitan Park, to the public on 20 December and invites us to discover all it has to offer daily, from 17:00 to 22:00.The Ellinikon Experience Park covers an area of more than 70,000 sq.m., which is part of The Ellinikon Metropolitan Park, at the site of the former Athens International Airport. It lies next to the three Aviation hangars, declared by the Ministry of Culture as Modern Monuments.
The Experience Park is the beginning of a new way of life. It is the ideal destination that awaits us all to get away from the daily life of the city, to explore, to relax, and to enjoy unique experiences close to nature. There, we will discover the spectacular interactive fountain with hundreds of water jets that create unique choreographies. An outdoor fitness area invites us to exercise and to stimulate our body and mind. For our young visitors, a wonderful world unfolds at the playground, with a variety of equipment, built-in an environmentally friendly way, offering fun, adventure, education, and opportunities for exploration. Finally, the Zen garden is an oasis that offers the opportunity to connect with nature and relax in a place where a water element and Mediterranean nature dominate.
In the Park, designed based on the area’s biodiversity, 500 trees and 55,000 plants of Mediterranean varieties were planted. The project has been designed and built according to the principles of sustainable development, signaling a new, more environmentally friendly approach, from collecting rainwater to cover irrigation needs and minimizing the use of pesticides and fertilizers to utilizing existing materials to create architectural elements, such as benches and paths.
Especially for the holiday season, from 20 December to 9 January, the Experience Park, decorated and full of sparkle, invites us to live the most beautiful Christmas experience. For the first time in Greece, two exceptional light installations create a uniquely immersive experience. The Stalactite, an imposing installation, with particularly bright patterns, synchronized to music, with the signatures of artists Christopher Bauder and Boris Divider, and the Helios, an impressive light installation, designed by the Algorithm team that creates a landscape full of light, movement, and rhythm.
What is more, our Park is adorned with an imposing Christmas Tree, 17 meters high, with bright lights, consisting of 180 real trees that will be given for reforestation after the end of the holiday season.
Finally, around the Christmas Tree, we will enjoy wonderful flavors from Akis Petretzikis, Elias Skoulas, LUKUMADES, ÉSOPHY, as well as ethnic proposals from Esteban and Falafeladiko, in combination with many other surprises.
The Ellinikon Experience Park is much more than a park. It is the beginning of a story full of experiences, images, and emotions. A special meeting place. Here, for everyone, forever.

Free entrance
The Experience Park is easily accessible, with an entrance on Vouliagmenis Avenue, very close to the Elliniko Metro station. The Park offers free parking for the convenience of our visitors.
